Weatherham Farm, Self Catering on Exmoor
Weatherham Farm sits in 20 acres of private grounds within the Exmoor National Park with stunning views across the Exe Valley. The peaceful setting is a haven for birds and wildlife – owls, buzzards, finches, our nosy robins, swallows nesting in the barns and murmurations of starlings. You may see stoats and weasels and red deer too.
Our friendly farm animals make a great distraction for the kids!
Sheep
We currently have a mix of friendly Devon Close Wools and Lleyn Welsh Mountain sheep who are well suited to our hilly location. We usually lamb in late March, which is always an exciting time.
Hens
Our funny, inquisitive Goldies and Marans are very free range and enjoy a diet of corn, worms, bugs and on special occasions, rice pudding, custard or porridge, resulting in the most delicious, luminous yellow yolk eggs. When “in lay” you are welcome to enjoy the freshest eggs possible.
Goats
We have two male pygmy Goats who will be your best friends if you are kind enough enough to donate some of your toast or digestive biscuits!
Cottage Field
We have a dedicated field kept for your enjoyment, providing plenty of space for games (you’ll find a selection provided), sitting reading, watching the animals, enjoying the birdlife or simply taking in the awesome views.
Location
Situated on the boundary of Somerset with Devon, with the coast only 14 miles away and Wimbleball Lake, with its fishing and watersports facilities, just 3 miles down the road, we are perfectly located to explore everything Exmoor has to offer. We are pet and child friendly – your dogs will love the walking on Exmoor and your children can interact to their hearts content with our animals.
We are a 20 minute walk or short drive from Brompton Regis with its community run shop. We are 4 miles from Dulverton which oozes charm and delightful award winning pubs and tearooms, all serving delicious local fare.
We can’t promise you sunshine but we can promise you a relaxed unhurried retreat from the busy world in the loveliest of surroundings.
